Gabriel Early and Johanna Nylander opened fish House in June 2007.
Gabriel Early was trained at the acclaimed Hostelry School at the
University of The Basque Country, which specialises in all kinds of
seafood. Subsequently he worked for many of the established London
restaurants and brasseries. Johanna has a long history of managing
restaurants in Stockholm and London. Both have been working together
running various businesses in and around Victoria Park for 10 years.
In 2006 they appeared in Egon Ronays guide to best Restaurants for
their consistent work at The Approach Tavern.
They have always felt that there was a lack of family friendly, good
value eateries, for people who use or live near the park. Their
ambition has always been to ensure good quality, fresh food at good
value prices. The proximity of Billingsgate fish market as well as
the popular destination that is Victoria Park led them to believe
that a fish restaurant would be an ideal addition to the neighbourhood.
